Description

The Centre International de Percussion (CIP, International Percussion Centre) in Geneva is an association that was formed with the goal of promoting and developing all activities connected with the world of percussion, principally in the field of contemporary music. In its concern to enlarge the percussion repertoire, the CIP regularly commissions renowned composers to write for it, and performs works by celebrated artists such as Fritz Hauser, Stefano Gervasoni, Franco Donatoni, Michael Jarrell, etc. Education plays an important role in the work of CIP, with introductory courses for children and the presentation of workshops. The CIP collaborates regularly with other associations and festivals, such as Contrechamps, the Festival Archipel and the Batie Festival of Geneva.
