The Swiss pianist Christoph Keller was born in Glarus in 1950. He studied principally with Sava Savoff at the Zurich Conservatory. Since then, he has regularly given concerts in numerous European countries and in Japan, and has performed at various festivals: Cantiere d'Arte di Montepulciano, the Castle Festival in Sanssouci, the Dresden Contemporary Music Days, and the Salzburg Festival. Keller has made many radio and television recordings (for SRG, SWF, SFB, ZDF, Arte among others) and has made over 20 CDs. In 1986 he was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque for his recording of the Schumann sonatas with the violinist Robert Zimansky, and in 1994 he was awarded the same prize for a CD with piano works by Charles Koechlin. Besides working as a concert pianist, Keller was from 1984 to 2000 chief editor of Switzerland's music journal Dissonanz, the organ of the Swiss Association of Musicians. Since 1986, he has been also a music producer at Swiss Radio DRS2.
