Flute and percussion - that is a striking combination, seldom found in contemporary music. But in fact, it is one of the oldest instrumental combinations in music history: fifes - little flutes - and percussion are the earliest instruments to have been discovered. CONTEXTO is the name of the trio that has commissioned one Polish and three Swiss composers to write for this archetypal combination. This Trio is in itself guarantee enough that there shall here be no such neoclassical tweeness, but that the context of the instrumental sound-worlds of flute and percussion will play a central role in the music itself.
Trio Contexto - Verena Bosshart, Flöten, Ricardo Bologna, Schlagzeug, Eduardo Leandro, Schlagzeug.
